The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has awarded an operator license to the Malta-based casino game developer Wazdan. This makes Wazdan one of the most recent companies to get such a license in the newly-regulated sector.
In April 2022, the AGCO was the driving force behind a historic development in Canada: the establishment of a regulated iGaming market in the province of Ontario. Because of this, the doors of the province have been opened to the privately run gambling industry, which had previously been operating in a legal gray area.
Wazdan is presently active in a total of 20 regulated markets throughout the world, some of which include the United States of America,
the United Kingdom, and Malta. As a result of Wazdan’s recent acquisition of a new license, the company’s games are now eligible to be hosted by online casinos that are also authorized to conduct business inside the province.
“We’re hugely excited to be a part of this newly regulated iGaming market,” stated Michal Imiolek, Chief Executive Officer of Wazdan.
“With this move, we are significantly strengthening our foothold in the region, and Ontario has the potential to become one of the largest markets in North America.”
According to Imiolek, firms in Ontario that currently have their licenses would benefit from increased interaction with the casino sector. Wazdan has been steadily growing its selection of online slot games, with one of the most recent additions being Hot Slot 777 Crown, which came out earlier this year. Wazdan is committed to provide players with the best possible gaming experience. Additionally, at the beginning of this year, the company entered into a strategic alliance with Scientific Games in order to broaden their presence in the sector.
